Playing Surface Options
A Continuum can be ordered with one of three different playing surfaces installed. All three surfaces are made from the same type of red nylon neoprene material. Markings on the Continuum surface act only as a playing guide, and do not effect the pitch performance.
Silk Screen
The newest and most popular surface currently offered. Accurately placed black ink is silkscreened onto the red nylon neoprene, resulting in a very strong visual marking of a twelve note octave. The octave pattern repeats over the entire playing area. The black areas have a different textual feel than the red areas, aiding the player in finger placement. The silk screen surface is more durable than the laser etch surface.
Laser Etch
An alternative to the silk screen, this accurate laser etching has a more subtle marking but is still highly visible. The laser pattern is burned into the red nylon. The twelve note octave pattern repeats over the entire playing area.
Plain
Solid red color, no surface markings on the playing surface. This surface is suitable for the Continuum player who does not wish to reference a twelve division octave.
